Why condemn an entire populous ( based on race, gender, economic status etc.) because of a few.

This is called prejudice

Do you then do the reverse and praise an entire population for the good work of a few individuals of that populous ?

This is called broad minded ness.

Keep your praise for those that demonstrate goodness and reserve the lack of praise for those that don’t but give them empathy.

This is called compassion.
