So the other day i had a 91 y old patient come see me

We chatted about his health and had a great time talking about his life and things he had done

When the time came to leave I got up and walked to the door and turned and held out my hand in the shape of a fist

He looked surprised but reciprocated with a fist bump.

Then he just stood there stunned.

I asked what happened

He started to tear

“No one has ever fist bumped me, I thought I would never get the chance to do this, thank you, you are a good man”

And then he walked out.

I was somewhat speechless

I had always assumed that everyone knew what a fist bump was…..

I had always assumed.

Thats the key that i learned in that moment

One can never assume, and also it is never too late to experience anything
……………
I love you
