With a click of the second hand of the clock the world rejoices and welcomes the new year. A fresh quarter of the century begins as the earth goes round the sun once more, the solar system travels a little more around its galactic center in infinite time. Such insignificance is this passage we celebrate but to each of us it is important for each day that passes gives us meaning to a tiny existence with the backdrop of the cosmos.

And so just as we awaken from a dream into reality or fall asleep and enter the illusion, or step off the stage of our play and enter another one, or as we complete reading a chapter in a book and start the next one, 2025 ends and 2026 gently begins.

For many of us there are things we want to start anew, forget the past, create fresh habits, plans, fork out our journeys. Doing something different in the future gives us that new definition, only to one day realize that we are defined not by the future for has yet to come but instead by our past that makes us who we are in the present. The past is not for us to escape but honor.

2025 brought us all challenges in some fashion, be they financial, physical or mental health, or in our relationships. Many things came to us as a surprise for no one expects bad things, but many experiences arrived as a counterbalance to give us relief from the grief we felt. Toxicity turning into nectar. One cannot occur without the other. A pearl is born out of much pain in the oyster, and so it is wise to see all the challenges no matter how painful, lonely and bitter provided guidance, strength, resilience and growth.

It is this wisdom that we are burdened to carry into the new year. To mold it, bend it, shape it and make it our own through experience and then and only then can it be known, just as a diamond is revealed after much pressure from a piece of underground coal. So in all good conscience I cannot wish for you an obstacle free year for I would rob of you of your greatest soulful evolution, instead I wish you the gift of trust, faith, strength to get through those unavoidable obstacles and come out the other end of the lesson with wisdom, fortitude and love.

Remember Day 2 of your 365 day book begins today, write your best version of YOU each day.

………………….

I love you
