So at first glance one would say that I am getting a peck on the cheek by a deer. Correct? It looks cute, and adorable. Yet on a more careful observation one would find that it is not what it looks like. The “stag” is a bust of a hunt that has been mounted on the wall. I just stood next to it to take a picture to illustrate a point.
In the current world that we live in we are bombarded by images on social media. They are there to tell the story that the user is “influencing”. We are led to what the user wants us to believe or buy into. It most certainly is not the whole story. Such is the nature of the influencers. Overall we usually like to post the better side of our lives too. I mean why would we want to spend the time to posting the harder side of our lives, the miserable, the negative, unless we are looking for sympathy or comfort. But then again even those who post negative are looking for attention, as negative attention is still attention.
It is hard to even see the whole perspective since we scroll to fast. It is a mindless pastime that expends time and keeps the idle mind occupied, like a parked car, but the engine on idle or being revved up by the accelerator. Neither we nor the car are going anywhere, we just “spin the wheels of our minds”.
It is wise to look at all aspects of any situation or posting. It is in witnessing all vantage points do we see a more whole picture of any situation. And when we do, we are given a different level of wisdom to appreciate. It is when we see the event as a whole, we are offered a unique space of love to experience, as wholeness is love.
Don’t believe be? Next time you hear about an incident or event, try to find the other side of the story. Whether it is on the news or a post on social media. Look for the complete picture. When you have, note how you feel having understood it. There is a sense of calm, resolution, completeness and wholeness. That is the tapping into the state of love.
Everything is perspective. And only one part of the vantage point is a facet. A sliver to the full knowing. Everything is love in its entirety. Anything short of that is not wisdom.
………….
I love you
