Spring is here. Time to clean up. The yard that needs tending from the winter mess. The closet that requires organization of seasonal clothing. The mind of its own clutter. The heart of its wounds. It seems it is the perfect time for spring cleaning everything.

We can scrub the kitchen down but it is not just the cobwebs on the corners of the walls that need clearing, our hearts and minds require daily and seasonal evaluation.

There is much spiritual sweeping that is required. Old fears, judgments, shames, guilts and doubts. Once we start clearing we may find layers and layers of sticky and stubborn habits and mindsets that need a more vigorous hand to clean. But it is necessary to be carried out.

Like cleaning our house, cleaning our minds, hearts and spirits take effort and patience, so that we may open up the windows of our soul and let in the freshness of the light of wisdom to pave our way to spiritual freedom of material bondage.

With the steady hand of love we can create a healthy home to live in. Not just our physical house, but our body which is the temple of our soul. A healthy body leads to an even healthier mind, which flows into a healthier heart.
