Quick funny story.
So I am driving on the highway and I have this white Tundra 4×4 car/truck that is speeding along and driving on my tail for most of the 20 miles. Many time I moved to the slower lane, let him pass and then got back into my driving lane. Then he moved and I passed him. This went on for quite sometime.
At some point I got bored of seeing in my rear view mirror and I decided to just move over, let him pass and be done with it. So I did. Well as he passed me for the umpteenth time, I looked at the back of his truck and the sign that it stated. “ REST EASY GRAVE MAINTENANCE “
I could not stop laughing. Not at the wordage but more at myself. Here was a classic example of the universe trying to connect to me with a wise message. It was a reminder to slow down and not drive fast. To not always be in a hurry to reach the destination, as sometimes getting there is just as important as the shape we are in when we arrive. I was musing to myself about how the universe has always my best interest at heart.
When we care to pay more attention around us we can hear, see, feel the universal messages come forth, guiding and healing us. I was thinking about how much I was lost in thought for so many miles till I finally paid attention, I mean that truck did come in front of me numerous times but I was not aware of seeing the back till that moment of realization. How UNpresent was I ? A lot !
As I silently thanked the universe for this lesson of wisdom, I thought again…. What if I ended up in my grave due to a car accident and THIS guy was inn charge of maintenance of my site. That would have been hilariously pathetic. So I slowed down and paid more attention to the road, my breathing and just feeling more grounded after that. Will I stay like that? Unlikely. But I darn well intend to practice being present more often so the universe does not have to keep reminding me.
The messages can be in the form of a billboard, a warning from a friend, words of a song, or even a sign at the back of a truck ! Become more aware and attentive, the universe is speaking, time to listen.
